Synapse Institute is a school for children with high potential ages 5-12 years. Located in Palo Alto, the school offers a Constructivist and progressive learning environment. Synapse Institute designs and implements an imaginative, accelerated, and emotionally-grounded learning environment. Based on research, and on best practices, the learning programs provide innovative, dynamic, and cutting-edge activities through which students learn to merge their passions with knowledge and skills and fuel their successes.
The curriculum is designed to guide students in transforming knowledge into real-world projects. Theoretical concepts in the form of hypotheses or social theories as well as creative visions, are grounded in daily experiences of experimentation, innovation, and creation. In a dynamic, experiential, and nurturing education environment, students learn to construct knowledge, formulate insight, connect theories with realities, and transfer information into new settings. Project-based activities are anchored to research and students connect their learning to finding solutions for a better world.
