Emotional Intelligence Assessments and Tools
Six Seconds publishes robust, psychometrically validated EQ assessments – normed against a global dataset and turned into practical, actionable reports. Three report suites cover every need, from individual growth to whole-organization change.
All Six Seconds assessments are psychometrically validated
Every assessment is psychometrically validated, normed against a global dataset and published in peer-reviewed journals.
Published in peer-reviewed research
The SEI dataset underpins studies published in Frontiers in Psychology – including a 2026 analysis of 43,080 women across 114 countries, and the 2025 study that identified a global decline in emotional intelligence across 28,000 adults in 166 countries.
Benchmarked against a global dataset
Scores are compared against a normative database built from more than a million assessments across 200+ countries – so a result means something relative to the world, not to a convenience sample of a few hundred people.
Explained clearly in the technical manual
The full psychometric picture in one place: construct and criterion validity, internal consistency, test–retest reliability over time, factor structure, and the norming methodology behind every score.

These three suites are all built on the same validated science. Many people use all three in their work, and many use one suite in particular.
SEI: The EQ Assessment
The full picture of how a person uses emotional intelligence, and what to do about it.
Vital Signs
The people-side of performance, measured across leaders, teams, and whole organizations.
Brain Profiles
One page of personal insight that lands in a room, fast.
The Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Assessment™
The SEI measures the eight competencies of the Six Seconds Model and turns them into a development plan a person can actually act on. It is the most widely used measure of emotional intelligence in the world – validated, benchmarked across 200+ countries, and taken by more than a million people.
Where most feedback tells someone how they came across, the SEI tells them which underlying skill produced that impression, and which one to practice first. That is the difference between a difficult conversation and a development plan.
Leadership Report
The flagship for growing the capabilities leadership actually runs on – the pressure moments and the relationships that carry a team.
Development Report
Feedback across all eight competencies, how each one connects to outcomes in work and life, and concrete ways to strengthen the weakest links.
SEI 360
Multi-rater feedback showing the gap between how someone thinks they land and how the people around them actually experience it.
Also available: the Group Development Report for teams, and the SEI Neural Network for advanced analytics.

Vital Signs measures the emotional drivers that decide whether a group performs or stalls: trust, motivation, change, teamwork, and execution. Where the SEI looks inside a person, Vital Signs looks at the weather between them.
It answers the question engagement surveys usually raise but cannot settle – not just that something is wrong, but which driver is breaking, in which team, and what to do about it. Re-measure at 90 days and the change is something you can show someone.
Leadership Vital Signs 360
360-degree feedback on how a leader’s behavior actually lands with the people who work around them.
Team Vital Signs
The climate inside one team – what is supporting peak performance, and what is quietly blocking it.
Organizational Vital Signs
The same read across the whole organization, segmented so you can see which units are struggling and why.
Brain Profiles
Brain Profiles take the same SEI engine – twenty normative scales, the same psychometrics – and distill it onto a single page. The result is something you can hand to forty people in a workshop and have the room talking within minutes.
They are used by external facilitators and by internal L&D teams for the same reason: depth of insight without the delivery cost of a full debrief per person.
Brain Brief Profile
A one-page snapshot of how a person focuses, decides, and drives – the fastest way into a conversation about style.
Brain Talent Profile
Surfaces the person’s strongest talents for putting emotional intelligence into action, framed as strengths to build on.
Brain Discovery Profile
Style, strengths, and challenges mapped against results – the fullest of the one-page profiles.
Also available: the Brain Profile Dashboard, an at-a-glance view of a whole group’s talents and patterns.

Every Six Seconds assessment is delivered by someone certified in it – so that results are interpreted properly and land as development rather than as a score. That person can be you, or it can be us.
