Daily Practices for Increasing EQ

Is emotional intelligence something “just to know about” or can we use it?

You know emotional intelligence is useful… but HOW do you actually use it on a daily basis?

We’re asking faculty from Grow U to share some of their most effective practices, tips and strategies for putting EQ into action.

Panelists:

Peter Hatherley-Greene lived in the Middle East for the past 25 years and has a PhD in Arabic Culture and Society. Certified as a EQ SEI Assessor and additionally in Vital Signs and Insights into People Management (IPM), I continue to coach and train virtually within the region, employing my EQ knowledge and practices almost every day!

Beth Offenbacker, Beth’s work focuses on technical/scientific professionals and organizations with a  “Green” or sustainability focus.  A Certified Coach, Certified EQ Assessor, and a Certified Insights for People Management Trainer, she has a PhD in social science and her research centers on effectively engaging people in different cultural contexts.  She draws on her EQ skills every day at home, at work, and in the community.  “I love that I’m always growing and advancing my EQ skills,” Beth says.

Fiorella Velarde, psychologist, certified coach and educator & Six Seconds LATAM Regional Network Director. Fiorella is committed to creating joy, wellbeing and value with emotional intelligence, art and contemplative practices, which she has regularly applied to herself first in order to heal herself and to model for others.

Maria Jackson, EQ Coach & Author of Illuminate, is a self-proclaimed perfectionist and practices emotional intelligence every single day to build compassion and empathy. As an emotional intelligence facilitator, whose clients include Harvard University and Google, she blends evidence-based techniques with wholehearted empathy for an experience that leaves participants feeling inspired & empowered to set ablaze their inner light.
