1 Earn Your EdD

Antioch University’s EdD with Social Emotional Learning Specialization (EdDxSEL) is one of the only programs of its kind.
It is designed to prepare professionals who use educational practice in the service of more just and inclusive schools, organizations, and communities.

The Social Emotional Learning specialization equips educators, community leaders and independent SEL consultants with SEL curriculum, and evidence-based assessment tools, policies, and procedures. Students learn to design custom SEL interventions, evaluate program impact using normed and validated assessments, apply benchmarks for SEL implementation, and more. At the same time, students learn to develop their own SEL skills as a foundation for their leadership in this field.

Graduates earn certification as a Six Seconds EQ Educator, plus certification in the emotional intelligence and school climate assessments that form a foundation for evidence-based SEL

This degree is offered in an online, low-residency format.

2 Earn Master’s Degree Credits as a Certified EQ Coach

Graduates of Six Seconds’ EQ Coach Certification are eligible to transfer 9 semester-credits (out of 33 for graduation) to the Antioch University Graduate Management Online degrees:

MA in Nonprofit Management (MANM)
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Master of Human Services Administration (MHSA)

There are a small handful of programs in the world offering MA/MBA level training in coaching. Through the partnership with Antioch University, EQ Coach Certification (EQCC) graduates develop coaching expertise, and the in-depth knowledge, skill, and credentials to be change leaders in business, nonprofit, or human services.

The EQ Coach Certification is accredited by the International Coaching Federation as level 2 (223.5 hours) (125 required for professional coach certification). Graduates work as executive and professional coaches – in business, with individuals, and in education, and Antioch University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
