INTRODUCTION: THE DIGITAL DILEMMA.

WEBINAR: INDISTRACTIBLE.

Ever get the feeling the world is full of too many distractions? Research shows the ability to stay focused is a competitive advantage, in work and in life. However, in an age of ever-increasing demands on our attention, how do we stay productive and stay sane?

Nir Eyal, bestselling author of Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products, wrote the book on the secret psychology behind the world’s most engaging products and services. But rather than blaming tech for our troubles, Nir dives into the root causes of distraction, exposing the surprising truth behind why we tend to go off track.

  • Deborah Rozman, behavioral psychologist and CEO of HeartMath, working to activate the heart of humanity – using technology
  • Elias Arjan, Biohacker and Senior Vice President at Biostrap

Mark Gonzales

Cofounder, Deptartment of The Future

My name is Mark Gonzales. I was born in Alaska over four decades ago. My life sits at the center of technology, philosophy, pedagogy, and fatherhood. Over one hundred years ago, I had two sets of grandparents who left their homelands. One was from central Mexico, and the other was from France. They each birthed children who legally weren’t supposed to fall in love, yet did.

I am living proof of what is possible when love is stubborn for all the right reasons. The child of a mechanic and a custodian who became a Stanford professor. A person who transformed his mother’s death into a personal degree in global empathy. For while my life work extends in many directions, the axis remains the same: collaborate with cities and sectors to advance the most imaginative solutions humans are capable of.

I share this because if there was ever a time that mankind could benefit from dreaming and designing boldly, it is now. I also remind you if there was ever a time to love, it is always.

Alex Schwartz

Consultant, Speaker & Growth Strategist

Work and human connection are being radically disrupted by technology.

AI is automating hard skills and our soft skills (e.g. empathy, conversation, relationship building, critical thinking) are being downgraded by our compulsive use of technology. To find purpose and thrive in The Age of AI/The Future of Work we must double down on innately human soft skills and find more conscious/relational ways to use our devices. Further, to keep pace with technological change, we must cultivate resilience, adopt a growth mindset and embrace lifelong learning.

Over the past six years, I drove and helped scale $250M+ of data, digital marketing, tech and innovation products for Fortune 500 companies, including Marriott, AB-InBev, Ralph Lauren, Nestle, Comcast, Lowe’s and Barclays. Now, I create practical tools and trainings to help leaders and educators build the workforce of tomorrow, today. I facilitate workshops and am a frequent media contributor. My work revolves around the belief that there is an urgent and unique opportunity to not only re-skill and re-humanize labor to thrive in The Age of AI but also to find more joy, connection and purpose in all that makes us human.

The EMOTIONAI virtual conference is produced by Six Seconds, The Emotional Intelligence Network

Six Seconds is a community of changemakers contributing to a world of insight, connection, and purpose.

We think the world would be a better place if a billion people were practicing the skills of emotional intelligence (EQ). So, we research and share scientific, global, transformational tools & methods to support that goal.
