Certification:

Participants who complete certification will be licensed to use the SEI, a statistically sound and insightful self-report measure of EQ, and the EQ Leader curriculum, a complete package for a highly-effective 1-day training.

The Certification requires a 3-hour eLearning component pre-course, and three 60-minute teleconference calls plus a practicum (ie, practice delivering the tools in your organization + debriefing a Six Seconds' faculty member in the SEI). The coaching component will provide participants individual support in delivering the one-day EQ Leader program and in the administration and debriefing of the SEI assessment.

The SEI is a statistically valid self-report assessment focused on developing and applying EQ; it is the only measure based on the Six Seconds model and had been validated in the US, Europe, and Asia. The detailed report includes many development suggestions. It can be used in coaching, development planning, personal growth, hiring, selection, and for training. It is effective as a pre-post measure to show improvements. The retail price for SEI is $45; Certified Consultants are eligible for a 30% discount in addition to quantity and nonprofit discounts.

The EQ Leader curriculum is an interactive, engaging, and effective 1-day program for developing leaders at all levels of an organization. It can be adapted for front-line use as well. Course workbooks are $75 per participant, or $100 including the SEI.

Joshua Freedman

Joshua is the COO of Six Seconds, co-author of the SEI assessment, and one of the world's most experienced experts in emotional intelligence development. Part of Six Seconds' founding team, Joshua has worked full-time in this field since 1997, launching EQ initiatives on six continents with numerous corporations and organizations; clients include the US Navy, FedEx, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Lockheed Martin, and the National University of Singapore.

Tom Wojick, MA

Tom is a trainer, consultant, and coach with over 18 years experience as a senior executive in behavioral medicine and health care. After earning a master’s degree in counseling education from the University of Connecticut, Tom served as a leader in several health care organizations, including Director of the Mind Body Medical Institute (affiliated with the Harvard Mind-Body Institute) and VP at Bon Secours Richmond Health System, and CEO of Charter Westbrook Behavioral Health System, Inc.

Mimi Frenette, MA

Mimi is a Master Certified Coach, leadership consultant, certified corporate coaching trainer, and mediator. She has more than 20 years of experience teaching and coaching professionals from all sectors of business. Mimi has a master’s degree in community leadership with a concentration on adult education. Mimi has earned the Master Certified Coach (MCC) designation from the International Coach Federation.
