This coaching process is individualized to meet your needs and preferences. Together, you and your coach make a plan of what you want to achieve and a process to reach that goal.
What's Unique About Six Seconds' Coaches?
Our coaches have a deep understanding of emotional intelligence and have worked in this field for 5-15 years. They are great at asking questions and they are totally supportive of your genuine commitment. They are incredibly insightful, but they keep their opinions to themselves unless you ask. They are honest, caring, and they have a good sense of humor. Most of all they are committed to practising the skills of emotional intelligence and supporting you to do the same.

Most of our clients start by taking the Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Assessment, a statistically reliable, web-based self-assessment. It provides a picture of your EQ at this moment in time together with many suggestions for development. Starting with the SEI gives you a structure to discuss your current work and life situation, and how you are seeing and using emotions effectively.This initial call is also your opportunity to decide if you and your EQ coach are a good match. You are in charge of the process and can decide to schedule one more call or a series of three or five calls.
The coach will ask you what you'd like to focus on and, after each call, you'll have some specific strategies and practices to try out. They will assist you to look at the choices you are making now and reflect on the costs and benefits of the current situation. Together, you'll identify new alternative thoughts, feelings and actions that will serve you better. Most importantly, your coach will ask you to focus on your goals and values, and on how you can use your strengths to reach those goals.
This coaching process is totally confidential. If your organization is paying for the coaching, they will receive an update about the number of coaching sessions completed, but no further details unless you've agreed to another plan.
