First - sorry if you *just* got an email from the
NexusEQ system, pretty much the same email, but this
has more.
:-)
I will be back in Europe this fall running our 5-day
intensive EQ training - in a lovely fishing village
outside Lisbon. The program offers an in-depth
experience with learning and developing EQ --
with the premise that to effectively teach these
skills you need to develop yourself. Designed for
practitioners and educators, it is also effective
for leaders and individuals who want to really
get EQ.
Then our annual October course in the delightful
Holbrook Palmer park near Stanford University in
California, and then back to Singapore in November.
Massimilano Ghini and I will also run the EQ
Certification in Italian (for me, with the help of
a translator) in October - check
http://italia.6seconds.org for details soon.
I would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the
word -- do you know people would would value an
in-depth, hands-on emotional intelligence training
program? Please send them the link above.
There is also a nice article about the program on Yahoo
News right now:

I would also appreciate your help by sending all youth
artists and art teachers this message:

Here are several other announcements about training
and events:
* We updated our comparison of emotional intelligence
tests: www.6seconds.org/tests/
* There are several new events on the Six Seconds
EQ Event Calendar, including certification trainings,
a great Train-the-Trainer opportunity from HeartMath
(they've developed a lot of new materials for educators,
plus their wonderful Freeze Framer tool), and the CSEE
summer conference on improving school climate. You
are welcome to post your public-run EQ-related events
there!
* The Six Seconds Institute for EQ Education site has
been re-designed, and there is now information on the
Assessment of School Climate.
* The new EQ Leader + Six Seconds Emotional
Intelligence Assessment Certification will be held in
conjunction with SUNY Upstate Medical Center in
Syracuse, NY, on May 24-26, 2006.
* There are new forums for discussion on the EQ
Alliance web site - drop in anytime and "meet" allies
from around the world.
* CAEI is running a conference in September in the UK.
While the speakers are primarily from the sponsoring
organizations, they have a lot of good experience
and tools to share. I met Tim Sparrow many years ago
in one of our certification courses, and I respect his
approach. So if you're near the UK, I recommend you
check this out.
* There are several new articles on the 6seconds.org
web site, including an excerpt from the very important
2nd edition of Emotional Intelligence in Everyday Life -- essential reading for serious EQ practitioners.
Warmly yours,
- Josh
