Saying YES
It is simple enough to be either simplistic or true: What we say is possible
becomes possible; what we say is impossible becomes impossible. A key
component of optimism is recognizing that you have the power to make change.
A key component of EQ is seeing that what keeps you from that possibility is
your own patterns and fears about being powerful.
Quotes...
Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody
has thought.
-- Albert von Szent-Gyorgyi
Work is either fun or drudgery. It depends on your attitude. I like fun.
-- Colleen C. Barrett
I was going to buy a copy of The Power of Positive Thinking, and then I thought:
What the heck good would that do?
-- Ronnie Shakes
For visions come not to polluted eyes.
-- Mary Howitt
Research says...
If you focus on the kind of thinking that makes you feel better, you can make
those thoughts occur more frequently (Levine 1991).
Try this...
Get a roll of quarters and put it in your pocket or someplace handy. Through
out the day (or week if you are bold), keep track of every time you think or
say something like: "I can't," "that's not possible," or "I'm not worth it." Each
time, take one quarter from the roll and put it in your other pocket. At the end
of the day/week, take your quarters and invest them in something that will
make a positive difference in the world.
