A regular EQ News coming soon... in the meantime, some
amusing advertising about our excellent certification course!

    ----

Looking for an in-depth understanding of emotional
    intelligence?

Wondering how we use a bedsheet, rubber ducks, bell wire,
geodes, and a box of colored sand to teach EQ?

Six Seconds' 5-day certification course provides a model
for learning and teaching EQ in an experiential, engaging
process. The course models brain and emotion enriched
teaching, it is fun, challenging, illuminating, and hands-on
-- from rubber ducks to ropes to building blocks... just
look at the materials list below!

The course is designed to help people who are either
designing or implementing EQ programs -- typically
trainers, educators, education administrators, or people in
EQ-related organizations. Our participants have come
from many sectors -- K-12, college, tech, industry,
medicine, psychology, nonprofit -- and from around the
world (14 nations in 2 years!) Groups are typically from
20-30 people, range in age from 18-75, and all have a deep
commitment to the promise of emotional intelligence
both as an approach to their own personal development
    and in their work/world.
Six Seconds uses a research-based approach and integrates
principles from decades of study on affective programs.
The research is integrated with our training and classroom
experience to create a meaningful learning process. The 5-
day curriculum is built on 30 years of experience teaching
and training the Self-Science curriculum (on of the 2
model programs Goleman discusses in _Emotional
Intelligence_) -- and the trainers have years of real-world
experience delivering EQ education to children and adults
(the course is facilitated by Anabel Jensen, Ph.D., Joshua
Freedman, and Marsha Rideout -- Six Seconds' founding
    team).

You will increase your emotional awareness, your ability to
make choices integrating your emotions, and your
commitment to fuel your life and work with the principles
of EQ. You will also leave with a toolbox crammed full of
processes for teaching, a model for understanding, and a
deep personal understanding of how EQ works in real life.

Next 5-day: February 21-25, Menlo Park, California (15
minutes from San Francisco Intl airport).
Fee: $785 including training and materials. Lodging on
    your own.
