This is an excerpt from a keynote for young executives in the Malaysian government (aka “emerging leaders”). My goal in this session was to engage them to consider how they show up as leaders and the opportunity offered by using emotions more consciously and effectively.
The clip starts with our “EQ-Performance Chain” which shows how emotions are critical for driving results — then goes into a brief overview of the Six Seconds Model. Later in the talk I go into a little more detail on each of Know, Choose, and Give yourself with a few interactive discussions, video clips, and activities.

The EQ Performance parallels the Customer Service Chain (the whole “line of sight” concept) perfectly! Both of the clips from this conference are wonderful.

Thanks Pat!
For those who want to know more about what Pat means, see her module in the “Developing Human Performance” curriculum – http://www.6seconds.org/dhp – in volume 3.
The idea is to keep a “line of sight” between your daily actions in your organizations and the customer experience.

Hi Joshua,
I enjoyed your obvious passion in this presentation. Knowing yourself is what integral leadership is all about (concept of ego, meditation, etc.) and choosing yourself is helped tremendously by Neuroleadership insights (www.neuroleadership.org). Giving yourself is all about aligning head, heart and “hara” as Wendy Palmer would put it (“The Intuitive Body”) so you don’t experience the resistance coming from scattered energies if any of those three were to pull in different directions. Your presentation, that’s the way to go in my opinion, Keep on walking Johnny!
Best regards,
Nadine
