Synapse is a lab school in the Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Network, and is located in Palo Alto, California.  As a center for innovation in education, Synapse runs outstanding programs that blend academic excellence with a profound commitment to social and emotional learning so students shine and thrive -- head and heart.  Dr. Fatum oversees the research program which is charged with researching and disseminating best practices.

One of Barbara's current projects is developing curriculum for an after-school program which will merge EI competency with graphic media.  This curriculum will be designed for students, aged 8 to 14, diagnosed with asperger's and autism spectrum disorders.
