Creating Positive Change in India by Tapping Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is catching fire in India as a scientifically sound approach to improving the people-side of performance. Six Seconds’ new office in Mumbai will support the growth of the new Indian economy by delivering best-in-class EQ solutions to improve people-performance. Led by three accomplished consultant-coach-trainers, the new office will deliver Six Seconds’ scientifically validated tools, transformational training, and people-centered consulting throughout India. In keeping with Six Seconds’ mission of spreading positive change, Six Seconds India will also support the growth of social emotional learning with education partners.
In September, 2011, Six Seconds India will launch, “The Heart of Leadership: Indian Leader’s Forum” — a collaborative conference of top Indian leaders setting their agenda for future leadership in their organizations. Joshua Freedman, Six Seconds’ global COO and author of At the Heart of Leadership, will be in India to open the event.
Also in September, from the 19th to 23rd, Six Seconds India will host the EQ Certification, a transformational program for those committed to increasing emotional intelligence – starting with themselves. This remarkable program equips leaders, change makers, trainers, educators and consultants with the EQ insights and tools to catalyze positive change.
The Six Seconds India leadership team includes:
- Dexter Valles, a global business manager turned entrepreneur, trainer, and educator with extensive experience in corporate learning
- Sonali Kelkar, an experienced management consultant and coach with a proven track record of organizational development
- Sanjay Dutt, a skilled coach and consultant with a intensive experience in organizational leadership and transformation
While awareness of emotional intelligence in India is very high, there are few scientifically sound and comprehensive approaches available. As Dexter Valles puts it, “India has an incredible social history and timeless traditions steeped in emotional spiritualism that touches many of the key ideas of EQ. Now with Six Seconds, we have a sound practical methodology for putting this ancient wisdom into contemporary action in corporate and private life.” Six Seconds’ unique blend of validated assessments and transformational learning bring both the “head and heart” together in a package that will strengthen and enrich critical resonant leadership in the rapidly growing Indian economy.

Congratulations, India office! How exciting!! We welcome you to our “global Six Seconds’ family!!” We look forward to collaboration and celebration together!
So nice to see your smiling faces in Mumbai! I welcome the development of the 6 Seconds office and hope to return to India again soon! It was a pleasure working with you in 2010 for the 1st EQ Certification. My best wishes to all of you as the message of EQ grows within yourselves and out to your community. Warm wishes, Marilynn
Welcome to you all! I look forward to future collaborations with all of you and Sanjay, thank you for your insights and generosity of spirit, Yoshimi.
Thanks Deb, Marilynn and Yoshimi for your good wishes. Marilynn you are the one who started us on this journey and I’m sure the magic dust you sprinkled on us is still shimmering and enchanting us. This has been an exciting and scary transition from host to country office. And it all began over a casual conversation in Singapore in May 2010. Granville is the one who not only encouraged me but put his full faith and trust in me and Josh backed his decision quietly and surely.
I carry this faith and trust forward with my whole heart and spirit. Thanks again folks and we are going to transform ourselves and those lives we are privileged to touch.
I am happy to see that Six Seconds has come to Mumbai. I have been preaching about the need for Emotional Intelligence for some years in our schools with little result.
I wish you all success.
John
